Question: Why did you start this business?
Mazzoni: To me, this business is a win-win. I saw a consumer need and started this company as a way to do extremely cost-effective infrared asphalt patching while also giving part of our profits to charity promoting breast cancer awareness. After growing up in the paving and construction industry, I’ve always been fascinated with it. I stayed home raising my two boys until the family business got so busy that my mom needed help running the office. She also simultaneously ran a woman-owned infrared business that I helped her with. In March 2006, my mother died of breast cancer and her company was dissolved.
A few years ago, I came up with the idea for the family paving company that every October our crews wear pink vests and put out pink cones in honor breast cancer awareness and our mother. So why not take this a step further and start a woman-owned infrared company sporting pink trucks with a purpose and a cause? That’s how Power Patch Infrared Specialists of NJ was created.
I am excited to give our customers a state-of-the-art pavement repair solution to make potholes and utility cuts disappear, and to donate $1 to breast cancer charity for every patch we do. Being able to help a family struggling with their road to recovery while doing what is love is amazing.
